1. January - foundation of the IRON-ART Jan Bartos company. For the time being the firm without employees starts with a market research and the first small deliveries from subsupliers.

1. March - transformation to the IRON-ART Co. Ltd. The first five employees work now in a small rented forgery. All the beginning business is managed from the office in size of 10 sq. m. Start of bulding up two workshops of the total size of 500 sq. m.

30. June - The building up of the two workshops is finished. More people are employed. A launge in cultural facility in Vraclav is rented, where the office is established. In neigbour premises a small store and a wrapping room are established. All the final tratments as prowder painting, production of upholstery and wooden plates are supplied by other firms.

Construction of the stock for material and new offices in the seat of the company is finished. The number of employes increased to 22, number of supsupliers: 20.

Company becomes self-sufficient

A contract of lease for 10 years of the adjacent premises, where the new powder painting room, two workshops, stock of products and upholstery workshops are established.

The number of employees increased to 46.

Foreign exhibitions

Salon du Meuble de Paris, The Furniture Fair Birmingham

The firm reaches almost 100% turnover increase. The products are shown on domestic shows and also on the biggest european furniture fairs through the foreign partners (Paris, Frankfuft, Birmingham, London, Brusel, High Point USA and others).

As every year a new catalogue is issued with a lot of new designs. The sales department for domestic and foreign trade, economic department and production department are established.

Number of employees at the end of the year is 64.

New area purchased

The premises of former farm. The whole facility had to be reconstructed.

Because of the inadequate production capacities the firm starts to think about a construction of new facility with a sufficient capacity.

In September an agriculture property of about 4500 sq. metres is bought. Because of the calamitious condition of the buildings the total reconstruction starts immediatelly.

Reconstruction

Reconstruction, new workshops

An important terminus in the development of the firm. In February a new and for the first time a hardcover catalogue Collection 2001 in volume of 54 pages is issued. For the first time the firm itself exhibits its products on foreign exhibitions (Mnchen, Lemgo Messe Bielefeld).

In late july the construction of new area is finished and during the firm holiday the whole firm is moved there. New lacquering line is bought.

In december a construction of 300 sq.m. own showroom starts. The number of employees is increased to 84.

Construction of showroom, opening

In April the showroom was opened for public. The products became sucessfull in almost all countries of western and southern Europe, United Kingdom, USA, Izrael and South America.

An essential part of sales is realized on the domestic market where this kind of furniture step by step finds its fixed place.

Papillon Gallery

Sales gallery in the centre of Prag

The new premises in the centre of Prag are rented and rebuilt completely. In October the second showroom - Gallery Papillon with 250 sq. metres is opened.

Entering the Spanish, Croatian, Hungarian and Slovak market. The network of dealers in the Czech Republic is improving. The turnover on domestic market dubled.
